BIOGRAPHY
My name is Patrick Gorski, I was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago. I recently received my Associate in Arts from Triton College in the spring of 2019. Simultaneously, I pursued a career in photography working with clients such as the Chicago Tribune, Blackhawks, and Cubs. I’ve also worked on independent photo projects with the Associated Press and Getty Images to distribute images with clients such as ESPN, TIME, National Geographic, People, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Currently, I am enrolled as a Junior pursuing a bachelors in Communications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I still continue my photography work as an intern for the Office of Undergraduate Research and as an athletics’ photographer for USA Today. I hope to bring my acquired photography skills to the Portraits Project throughout the ride this summer!
PERSONAL STATEMENT
The effects of cancer relate back to me personally, as my mother and cousins are currently battling against it. Imagining, setting a goal, and achieving as something as grand as biking across the entire country is simply not fathomable. Illini 4000 is the prefect opportunity to put life into perspective. To fundraise, ride, and meet people along the way makes understanding the enormous scheme of life all that more amazing to try and grasp. Engaging directly to make a difference for the patients and families affected by cancer means more than anything to myself. Living an altruistic life in this fashion is more than I can lay hold of, and making a difference by every dollar that is donated is loving gesture that will be paid back ten fold forever.
