BIOGRAPHY
Hello All! My name is Patrick Ruane and I am a freshman studying Material Science and Engineering here at UIUC. I was born and raised in a small suburb of Chicago called Park Ridge. I usually enjoy listening to and creating music with friends. I love to bike and have been biking long distances for 4 years now. I am so excited to be a part of the 2011 Illini 4000 biking team. I can't wait to meet so many amazing people and see this great nation in a whole new way!
PERSONAL STATEMENT
The goal that this team is committed to accomplishing is incredibly inspirational. Almost everyone has been touched in some way, big or small, by the horrible disease the team is fighting against. Many times, I feel completly helpless in the face of cancer as there isn't very much that the average person can do alone to help combat it. But as a part of this team I feel I am contributing to the effort to end the unimaginable pain and suffering of million of people all over the world.
