Smoky air covering the mountains
Not a much for today, just thought I’d update this to share; we’re still not biking due to the air quality. We stayed in Ennis for an extra day and tomorrow we’ll be shuttling to Phillipsburg. It’s really hard knowing that the purpose of this trip is to bike, and yet we’re having to shuttle. There’s a mixture of guilt, disappointment, and anger at the circumstances— but in the end I think we know that we’ve done all we can. A few days of shuttling doesn’t nullify all the work and effort we’ve put into this, nor does it change the outcome of this ride. We’re still fundraising, we’re still collecting portraits, and still making our way to San Francisco. The best we can hope for now is for the safety of everyone, especially those directly affected by the fires, and for clear skies for all.
