Day 11: Ashtabula, OH to Cleveland, OH-- Cruising through!

Cleaning up the campsite this morning

The campsite was cold and damp this morning but we had bagels and cereal for breakfast (different from our usual oats) so the day was set out to be great! We did a simple 55 miles but with 2,200+ feet of climbing; it didn’t feel too bad— we’re getting used to this… just in time for things to start to flatten out as we cross OH into IN over the next few days. For now, we’ll enjoy the ups and downs.

Our second rest stop was at our favorite eastern (mideastern?) gas station, Sheetz! We had an early lunch there before finishing up the ride with two big hills and the motivation of a day ending before 2 pm. Extra time means we get to run some errands— a bike shop, Walmart, REI, the works— and just hang out. As it turns out, Claire P., plays piano and we love to try and sing along.

Hey, Sheetz, need an advertisement? (Maya and Claire N.)

We love the east coast and its hospitality… another day, another dinner! Thankful to our stayover for giving us a delicious meal once again and space to stay for the night. Next, Wooster! (and rain).
