BIOGRAPHY
Hi, thanks for stopping by my page! My name is Claire Penrose and I am currently a senior in bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I grew up in Mahomet, Illinois with my three sisters and we always kept my parents busy. In my free time, I enjoy spending time tutoring local children, hanging out with my roommates, trying to learn how to paint, and of course, biking. I am so excited to be a part of Illini 4000 this year for the chance to make new memories while raising awareness about cancer.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
When I was little, my mom was diagnosed with and overcame breast cancer. Over the course of the ride, I hope to meet cancer survivors and those affected by cancer in order to share their stories through the Portraits Project. I am riding for my mother, survivors, fighters, all those affected by cancer, and those who didn't make it. I want to support these people in any way I can and be a part of the fight against this disease.
