BIOGRAPHY
Hi! I'm Marc Backas, and I’m excited to be a member of the Bike America Team! Studying engineering has been great, and while I’m not pouring over the wizardry of modern electronics, I enjoy playing French horn in the Hindsley Symphonic Band. I love biking, and I’ve learnt a lot over my four summer’s experience as a bicycle mechanic, and I’m excited to see the future of electric bicycles taking form. I love dancing like a fool when i get the chance, and If you ever see me at the Greek Islands, don't be surprised if I order a whole saganaki for myself.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Almost everyone has been affected by cancer in some way. If it wasn't for this disease, I would've gotten to meet my uncle Bob, Grandpa Robert, and spent more time with my Aunt Nancy. What I admire most about her was her warm personality, and her courage and unflinching attitude during her fight. She had a strong support network of her friends and family, and I'm looking forward to spreading some joy, helping others build their own networks across the country through the portraits project. Can't wait for the ride this summer! Thank you for your support helping me reach my funding goal!
