BIOGRAPHY

I am Ryan Newquist and I am a junior in the Engineering Physics Department. I am originally from DeKalb Illinois where I have live most of my life, while I do miss it, I love this new experience. I love staying active whether it be running, biking, or just playing ultimate Frisbee. I am new to this college, but am surrounding myself in a new atmosphere and loving every minute of it. I love to travel, sight see, and meet new people! Whether it be at a music festival, a big city, or a local Cafe. This is the reason I am excited for Illini 4000, to meet, and here the stories of so many people, all while helping a great cause-fighting cancer.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Almost everyone has some sort of affiliation with cancer in their life. Whether it be an acquaintance, a friend, or a family member. My aunt had succumbed to cancer before I was born. Though I never met her, I am left with the remains of what it had done to my family. This is something that no one should have to go through, hearing how a person was before a love one was lost due to cancer, and how they'll never be the same again. Not only does it take a toll on the family, but the amount of pain some one with cancer had to go through is not fair. My grandfather also fought cancer, and watching all he had to go through just to stay healthy had a major effect on everyone that loved him dearly. Doing this ride will not only help my family, but will also help those who suffer from cancer all over.
