BIOGRAPHY

Hello, my name is Sarah Bopp. I’m from Bloomingdale, IL, a suburb on the Northwest side of Chicago. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Illinois hoping to study Psychology and Community Health while taking courses in the Pre-Occupational Therapy field. My goal is to go to graduate school and study to become an Occupational Therapist. I grew up as a child of two loving parents with an older brother to lead the way. I was always an adventurous little tike, exploring whatever crossed my path. I have been involved in some sort of sport for as long as I can remember, whether it be skiing, soccer, or running, being active is a part of who I am. I like to think I am an artistic person through my music and photography, but if you give me a pencil and ask me to draw, all you get is a bunch of stick figures. There is nothing I love more than being out in nature; if I could make my permanent residence a campsite, I wouldn’t think twice. So this summer is going to be a dream come true, I can’t wait to be outdoors everyday exploring our beautiful country.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

The reason you are on this website, the reason you want to support this cause, the reason you are reading this is probably because we have something in common: cancer has affected us all in one way or another. Cancer has been a part of my family’s history for as long as I can remember and similar to many others, I have lost loved ones to cancer. This summer I will be not only be riding for my loved ones who have lost the battle against cancer but for anyone who has ever fought with cancer. There is no worse feeling then the helplessness of a child as they watch their loved ones be taken away from them. Being a member of the Illini 4000 is giving me the opportunity to fight for those I have lost and to inspire others to do the same.
